The GGF is running a one-day GDPR Awareness Workshop on 11 April in Solihull aimed at helping consumer-facing businesses understand their data protection obligations – free to attend for GGF Members and also open to non-Members at a charge.

General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) legislation becomes a reality for all organisations operating within the EU on 25 May, 2018. This is a new set of rules governing how companies can gather and use personal data such as names, email addresses, credit card details and more.

It is important for consumer-facing businesses to understand the impact these reforms will have on their operations, as failure to comply could result in significant fines.

For this reason, the GGF has partnered with Cybercrowd – specialists in information, cyber security and data protection – to run a one-day workshop this April in Solihull.

The workshop has been designed to help companies get up to speed with GDPR and what changes they’ll need to make to ensure compliance.

The agenda will include a general background to GDPR and sections on accountability, legal requirements, the significance of all aspects of data processing, and what to do if you get a subject access request.

GGF Head of Membership and Training Richard Hearn commented:

“We appreciate that GGF Members and others in the glass and glazing industry are busy running their businesses, so we wanted to make it easy for consumer-facing companies to get a useful overview of the new GDPR legislation.”

The workshop will take place at the Arden Hotel, Solihull on April 11 and will include interactive break-out sessions and open discussion forums.

GGF Members can attend for free

The GGF’s GDPR Awareness Workshop is free to attend for GGF Members. Non-Members can also attend at a cost of £245.

GGF Members may nominate the individual or individuals from their business they would like to attend. This is likely to prove popular so we will take bookings on a first come, first served basis.
