GGF Appoints New Chair of the GGF North West and North Wales Group
The GGF are pleased to announce the appointment of the New Chair of the GGF North West and North Wales Group, Martin Clarke of Bootle Glass.
Martin has worked in the glass industry since he left school at 16, working at Pearsons Glass for approximately 21 years. In his time there, he learnt skills in all aspects of glass processing, which eventually led to teaching leaded light courses to mature students.
In 2003 the opportunity arose for Martin to become his own boss, and it was something he was very excited about. He then purchased Bootle Glass with his wife Sharon and they have successfully ran it together ever since, and will even be celebrating 20 years in business together next year. Martin has 2 daughters Emily and Kate.
Together Martin and Sharon have developed the business, and are manufacturers as well as installers. Martin thinks this is what has made the business so successful and sustainable, as they offer a wide range of services/products. They began with a retail shop and soon moved to an Industrial unit and have since purchased the two adjoining units.
GGF Board Members are elected every 2 years from across the Federation’s infrastructure – including the Glazing Executive, the Home Improvement Executive and the Regional Representatives Committee.
