Summary of AD L1&2 and AD F Consultations

Last week, we informed the GGF community that DLUHC had published the long awaited Future Homes and Future Buildings Standards consultations, including AD L 1&2 and AD F.

The GGF have now interrogated the relevant documents in more detail and you can view our initial findings on the documents below.

We will be actively communicating with all GGF members in the upcoming weeks to ensure a comprehensive response is submitted on behalf of the GGF community. We strongly encourage you to contribute your own response as well.

The consultation covers proposals for Approved Document L1 Dwellings and Approved Document L2 Buildings other than dwellings. Additionally, it includes a proposal for changes to Approved Document F Ventilation.

Please note that the consultation period will conclude on March 6, 2024.

Home Energy Model Consultation

Alongside the Future homes Consultation, there is also a consultation on the Home Energy Model which proposes to replace SAP with a new, more sophisticated modelling methodology. The impact that this may have on how U values are calculated are quite significant. It suggests that each size and style of window will need its own calculation, which is in line with the new AD L consultation details.
