The GGF Advocacy department works on behalf of the GGF community to influence key government departments, senior civil servants and stakeholders for the betterment of the industry. The GGF Training Academy offers a variety of courses to GGF members, ranging from a quick 2-hour refresher to an NVQ. These courses are available either remotely or in person, depending on the course content, and at a discounted rate for members. One of GGF Training’s flagship projects is the Skilled Pathways Scheme. This program helps members recruit and train the next generation of talent, which is crucial for futureproofing businesses in the industry. The program takes between 18-24 months to complete and offers a mix of in-person and remote learning. GGF funds the training for each trainee up to a value of £4,000, making it an excellent investment for members.

The GGF community has access to a multi material recycling scheme in place across England, Scotland and Wales. Any member wanting to have their old uPVC, aluminium and timber frames collecting, as well as your
post-consumer glass, can do so for free. A huge saving on skip hire and landfill costs, and in the case of aluminium, you’ll be paid a commission for it as well.
GGF Conciliation is a free, impartial and independent service whose aim is to act as a neutral arbiter to steer disagreements and negotiations towards an amicable conclusion, saving your company time and money in the process.
The Market Knowledge Report is an annual paper produced by the GGF Group that is free to all members. The report provides a level of insight into the industry over the past 12 months using its own internal data and selected external data sources.

Pulse Testing is an alternative to the mandatory installation of trickle vents. The 2022 update to the Building Regulations means vents have to be fitted on replacement windows and doors in the majority of cases. However, if you’re not making the room more airtight then you don’t need those extra vents.
